Overport Park, nestled in Frankston South on the scenic Mornington Peninsula, serves as a vibrant local sports precinct, catering to diverse users such as dog walkers and cricket and football enthusiasts.
We were engaged as the lead contractor to engage with the community and deliver design and construction services for a Bike Park that aligns with the master plan and overall renewal of the precinct.
The design of the Bike Park was specifically crafted to accommodate beginner, intermediate, and advanced riders, featuring multiple lines running side by side. This setup allows for transfer lines, skill development, and ongoing rider progression, which emerged as key requirements during our consultation phase.
Our design includes an array of exciting features, ranging from a beginner-level pump track to impressive jumps that enable riders to glide through the air. Additionally, we incorporated landscaping and native trees to enhance the natural experience that users seek in these types of spaces.
This project garnered recognition by winning in two categories for the International Architecture and Design Awards 2024.
